DID DR SANDRA CHU CALLED A PATIENT “DISGUSTING MOUTH”? - Replies to comments on a review

TL;DR
(Summary of post)

There were many anonymous malicious comments with personal attacks on the blog post regarding a negative review on Dr Sandra Chu. Due to the influx of malicious anonymous comments, I have decided to address the matter. (All the malicious comments only pertain to that one particular review)

Below is my opinion on these malicious comments that I have hidden because they did not relate to the incident discussed or the review content itself but the comments were personal. One of the anonymous comment threatened to sue me for writing a negative review.

Below are the reasons I have given to show that my reviews, especially the review on Dr Sandra Chu, do not tantamount to defamation and that there were no false statements, and any personal opinion expressed is fair comment based on facts. Dr Sandra Chu was indeed late for 1.5 hours. If needed, witnesses can be called and any CCTV films can be utilised. Quite a few staff there were showing apologetic faces that I was waiting for that long. What I wrote is a substantiated fact. The conversation that I posted regarding my conversation with the dentist is 100% true. My opinion based on the facts were then fair comments. My blog, as mentioned in earlier posts, serves primarily as my own diary of my own journey in dental visits. Despite my humble blog having little to zero views, I always make sure all reviews are genuine. On what grounds should I take my review down?

I have also stated that I have no qualms paying to track down the IP address of the commenters in order to find out the identity. If needed, I will make a case of harassment under the Harassment Act if such anonymous malicious comments continue. If the comments were made by any professional, well good luck to you. I believe anonymous personal attacks such as calling a patient having a “disgusting mouth” written by (presumably) a dentist or people related to the dentist in an attempt to threaten or insult a patient may result in a greater offence than honest customer reviews. Also, it would make great headlines in the papers.

As the incident has passed for more than 9 months and the comments were written 6 months ago and no person involved has contacted me personally, I have sufficient reason to believe that the comments to threaten me with a legal suit were written with the sole intention to harass me rather than to actually resolve the matter. This is coupled with the fact that immediately after the incident at the dental clinic, I have wrote to the clinic with my actual identity but received no response. The only response I received are the anonymous malicious comments on the aforementioned blogpost.

————————-

Detailed opinion below:

Hello.

I have received a multitude of comments with the use of nasty words in response to my previous post.

Before the previous negative review on Dr Sandra Chu, I did not receive any hate comments for years. After all, there is little to no traffic to this blog.
However, after that post, I have received many hate comments (all posted on the same date) which led me to believe that perhaps she and her friends/colleagues have came to comment here. The commenters also admitted they are dentists since they said stuff like “I rather not have someone as you as a patient” etc.
I also went to look at the Statistics of my blog inclusive of traffic sources and page views. It is hilarious to note that despite the review on Dr Sandra Chu having only 9 page views, there are so many hate comments. There are plenty of page views for other posts but with zero comments. It appears to me that these commenters deliberately post many hate comments against me might have been linked to the said dentist. However this is my presumption.

I have chosen to hide the comments as they all relate to personal attacks and not regarding the situation at hand that I have brought up.
(A) I would have appreciated if the comments were in direct response to the situation than if they were directly aimed at me such as calling me “disgusting mouth” etc.

(B) The posts here are based on my genuine personal experiences and are in no way conjured up stories. All the reviews are expressions of my personal opinions based on irrefutable facts. The opinions I have made are fair comments and are justified by irrefutable facts.

It is akin to posting a customer review after you have purchased a product.
There are both positive and negative reviews here. There are even comments that said that after reading my positive review (about another dentist of course), they feel more reassured visiting that dentist because he/she was googling about this particular dentist. The comment is still there feel free to find.

So as I said, just because I wrote a negative review about Dr Sandra Chu, does not mean I never had positive experiences.
In addition, just because a customer review is negative, it does not mean that there is defamation.

(C) It is funny that the comment that threatened me with a lawsuit is writing to me anonymously.
I think that speaks volumes about you believing in your own words.
Or that the person who criticised me not revealing my identity here actually commented here anonymously. Hypocrisy at its finest.

It’s equally amusing that the person who criticisized me for (possible) character assassination is making personal attacks at me and calling me names, such as having “disgusting mouth”. Hmmm. Who could have wrote it? :)
Such response to a negative customer review is unable to warrant any respect.
So yup, dear commenters harassing me, I have zero respect for you. :)

While we are on this matter, shall I contact blogger and presumably pay a fee for them to trace the IP address and see who these comments are written by?
Given the many hate comments on the same blog post, I believe I do have a case under Harassment Act.

I believe anonymous personal attacks written by (presumably) a dentist or people related to the dentist in an attempt to threaten or insult a patient may result in a greater offence than honest customer reviews. Also, it would make great headlines in the papers.

In addition, I have used my actual identity to feedback to the clinic previously. But I did not receive any response. (D) If you truly believe that what I said was false and deliberate assassination of your character, you would have personally contacted me but you did not do so for around a year.

I noticed the comments were made 6 months ago.
Between 18 Feb and now, I did not receive any contact initiated by anyone on this matter. If you truly believe that the post was false, you would have taken some action from the time of the post to now (9 months) such as contacting me personally to explain. Even the comments were all personal attacks and did not have any explanation on the situation. (E) In addition, despite having so many hate comments, no comment claimed what I said was false. Does this mean you silently acknowledge what I say is true and hence use threats and personal attacks as response instead?

(F) This further shows that the comments were made to deliberately insult or threaten me but with zero intention to actually resolve the matter.
Based on points (A) to (F), I hereby state that I do not think there is a case for defamation. Quite the contrary, I believe if such actions continue, I have a stronger case as a victim of harassment.
I have no respect if a dentist/doctor/organization/company uses such methods to try to mask negative but genuine reviews from patients/customers. If such similar actions occur, I do not mind paying to track down the person.

This blog is merely a rant for my experiences.
But I stick to my morals of posting genuine stuff, even as you chose to call me a “disgusting mouth”. :)  Perhaps you should reflect on yourself instead.
If you’re just an anonymous reader, you’ve no reason to insult me simply because of my cavities and send so many hate comments on that post.
This led me to believe that you may be related to the aforementioned dentist or the dentist herself. What kind of dentist insults a patient for having a disgusting mouth?

And no, I am not a “negative person who needs more positivity in life”
There are positive reviews here. You just chose to ignore it.
On a side note, I have even sent positive feedback emails to different airlines to praise and compliment cabin crew or good service staff. I am equally enthusiastic in making sure good service get appreciated by their companies or consumers.

DR SANDRA CHU TP DENTAL REVIEW. DO NOT CHOOSE HER.

For the price that you pay, the least you expect is competency and professionalism. Pretty basic eh? Not sure about competency but as far as professionalism goes, I’m sitting here waiting for Dr Sandra Chu whom I’m told is going to be 45min late. (End up its 1.5 hours late btw) The receptionist only informed me at my appointment time. It’s akin to a friend who is very late but has no courtesy to inform you until you have already reached. And isn’t 45min a bit too long?! (And again, it was a 1.5hours wait) Now I’m afraid to let the dentist do the fillings because what if the unprofessionalism extends to the dental work? But I’ve no choice because I’ve already took leave off work to come here. If I must add, another dentist is available after 45minutes but since she’s less experienced, I’ve decided to just wait for Dr Chu.   Also, this dentist was recommended by the receptionist. Are patients’ time worth less than the dentists?

Update: i have seen her after 1.5 hours but she’s completely unapologetic at all and so arrogant.
When I told her about my dental history and the reason I hop around etc, she later retorted and says she doesn’t want to do the fillings for me because she doesn’t think she will do a better job than the other dentists and don’t want me to complain/redo the fillings after that. I believed she said that because she didn’t like the fact that this patient is criticising fillings done by dentists as if all patients should just worship their dentists???. Anyway, since she said that she would not have done better than the other dentists and “might even do a worse job”, I highly suggest all of you take her advice on that.

You do not want to subject your mouth to someone who had decades of experience and tells a patient she might do a worse job at doing fillings than other dentists.

I only redid my fillings when they were discoloured and turning yellowish grey after 1 day.
I complained to her because of the gaps in between my front teeth was not aethstically pleasing and the back molars were hard to floss after the fillings. I don’t think that these criticisms are unfair. I think that her ego needs to be in check.

But I do agree with her on the point that she says she’s not willing to do the filings for me because I was not prepared for a chance of root canal. She says there’s a 50% chance. Ok fine. If the patient is unready and so the dentist doesn’t wanna do it I think that’s fair.

But the whole session with her makes me seems like shes arrogant and she looks nothing like her kind demeanour in the photo on the Tp dental website.

LOL. My blog actually predicts fraud among dentists. HAHA

Ok. So earlier in 2015 I gave a review on Dr Eu Gene at Phoenix Dental and I said that this dentist wanted to scam me. He told me that I have to pluck out my tooth and do an implant because root canal was impossible. FUCKING TRY TO SCAM MY MONEY. UNETHICAL. DOESNT CARE IF PATIENT LOSES A TOOTH. JUST WANT TO EARN HIS FUCKING MONEY.

Now why did I say I predict fraud?

http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/2-dental-clinics-under-police-probe-for-fraud

TADAH!

This dentist was investigated for fraud in 2016 and his clinics have both closed down.

This kind of people are just unethical wan.
Don’t trust your teeth with them. They will not only take your money but destroy your teeth!!!!

Irreparable damage!

Luckily I didn’t let my teeth subject to his torture. I knew that day he was a scam liao.

I’m so proud of my blog. More people should read it lor.

GPA DENTAL DR MERRY ANNE ENG REVIEW

Did three fillings with Dr Merry Anne Eng

I can feel the roughness of the filling in between the teeth when I floss. Also, I do recognise the slight difference in the shape of the tooth (Front tooth) albeit slight but I can spot it. Reduced aesthetics... I am very sad.

But in the world of no perfection, I do recommend Dr Merry Anne Eng and I think she is quite competent.

GPA DENTAL DR MERRY ANNE ENG REVIEW

Went to do S&P

Think her S&P is one of the most meticulous ones out of all the other dentists. I like the fact that she really clean the teeth near the gum portion and try to go in between the teeth as much as possible. A lot of dentist we pay them $100 to $200 I honestly think they just clean the easiest-to-reach surfaces and that's it without going as detailed as possible to clean all the surfaces

Think will visit her for future S&P

Note: If you are going to see this dentist, please be prepared that she will be late for 30min....... Even on weekdays during lunch hours
